Taylor & Sons has completed installation and commissioning of a new flood protection mitre gate at Walcot Sluice, near Lincoln. They were appointed by May Gurney and their overall scope included the design, supply, installation and commissioning.
KGAL was appointed to design and detail the replacement gates. The original gates were traditional timber mitre gates, bearing and sealing on the masonry structure, KGAL designed the new gates as a composite structure of steel painted with a suitable corrosion protection system and timber sealing members in Ekki hardwood.
This project is one in a series of successfully completed turnkey gate replacement projects where KGAL has provided technical support to Taylor and Sons.
