Douglas Harbour RoRo Linkspan - Health Check Investigation

The RoRo linkspan terminal at Douglas Harbour serves as the main route for freight on and off the Isle of Man. As such it is vital to the Island's economy.

Kenneth Grubb Associates Ltd were asked to give the RoRo facility a 'health check' after it had been in service for five years. KGAL Engineers undertook a site survey and also reviewed the maintenance and operating procedures.

Much of the survey was focussed on areas of hardware and software that had been causing concern over reliability.

A report was submitted that suggested a number of actions covering the range of hardware, software, maintenance and operational.

KGAL was subsequently engaged to assist in the implementation of their recommendations for the RoRo linkpan terminal.
