Milford Haven Port Mitre Gate Condition Report Survey
Retained by Milford Haven Port Authority to undertake a condition survey of the port's Mitre Gate and recommend maintenance to ensure another 5 years minimum life. The survey had a requirement for long periods of time to be spent in confined space conditions within the Mitre gate structures.
Essex and Suffolk Sluices
Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake a survey of three sluice structures around Essex.
o Martlesham Sluice o Kirton Sluice o Snape Sluice
The surveys had the objective of designing a universal stoplog to fit all three sites with the ability to add various length extensions to the stoplog in order to fit all three sites.
Mardyke Sluice
Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake survey and the design of a new access stairway over the existing sea defence wall and new maintenance platform for an existing flap valve.
A general Health and Safety site survey and report recommendations to be carried out to comply with current HSE legislation
Cattawade
Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake a condition survey of four sites at Cattawade in Essex/Suffolk.
o Cattawade Barrage o North Sluice o 56 Gate Sluice o Judas Gap
The equipment surveyed included large and small flap valves, Tilting gates, Radial gates, a timber Mitre gate, Vertical lift gates and penstocks. All of the equipment at each site was surveyed and a complete refurbishment program report was produced for each site.
Holehaven & Northwich Sluice
Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake a condition survey of two sites on Canvey Island.

The equipment surveyed included small flap valves and penstocks. All of the equipment at each site was surveyed and a complete refurbishment program report was produced for each site.
St. Katharines Marina.
Retained by the St. Katharine's Marina to oversee a diver tilting gate seal survey. Retained by the St. Katharine's Marina as NEC 3 Contract site supervisor to oversee the removal of the inner lock Tilting Gate and refurbishment of gate timbers and seal in a confined and high profile area.
Cley-Next-to-Sea
Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake a full condition survey at Cley of the wooden Mitre gate flood defence, and oversee the emergency repair of both gate pintles.
The Survey included removal of the wooden gates for inspection also allowing an inspection of the quoins.
Cley-Next-to-Sea
Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake the design of steel replacement Mitre gates and incorporate a water jet scouring system to dissipate the silt build up before/during operation. Also recyclable materials were used where practical.
Horseshoe Sluice
Retained by the Environment Agency to survey Horseshoe sluice and undertake design of new sluice access walkways, power supply routing, stoplogs and stoplog rack and recommend solutions to any site Health & Safety issues.
Handford Sluice
Retained by the Environment Agency to survey Handford sluice and undertake design of new power supply routing, stoplogs, stoplog guides and stoplog rack and recommend solutions to any site Health & Safety issues.
