For Marinas, Small ports and Harbours our portfolio of lock gate designs is unchallenged as the largest in the UK;
- Out of 25 known UK Sector Gate applications, 20 were originally designed or have received design improvements by KGAL Engineers.
- We are currently retained as Design Consultants on 2 further UK Sector Gate sites, under development.
- We provided significant detail design to 2 Marina locks at Sentosa Cove, in Singapore, incorporating state of the art remote control and intelligent sluicing.
- Complete design and detailed manufacturing drawings have been provided for a new marina development in Phuket, Thailand.
- A large number of Harbours have been provided with "half tide" tilting gates designed by KGAL, installed at the entrance to retain no less than a predetermined minimum water level at all times.
- Many inland waterway locks have received replacement mitre gates designed by KGAL.
- Recent contracts have included the provision of conceptual design input, complete detailed design of lock gates, operating and control system and stoplogs for an exclusive marina development in the Gulf of Cortez, Mexico.
Large Commercial Ports have also received the benefit of KGAL design expertise;
- Traditional Mitre Caisson Gates have been designed for Lock entrances and dry dock at a number of UK ports.
- Fully detailed construction drawings have been provided where the owner/operator chose to manufacture the Gates "in house".
- Sliding Caissons, Lock filling sluices and Impounding pump systems have all received the benefit of KGAL design.
