7 - Rising Radial Gates 40m Span x 9 Deep x 700 Tonnes.
Each gate is operated by a series of hydraulic motors running a pin rack and pinion system, at each end of each gate, controlled from a central barrage control station.
As part of the South Korean Government’s ambitious 4 Rivers Project, the Nakdong 22 Barrage is under construction and due for completion during early 2011. KGAL have been retained by Hyundai Engineering as specialist Gate and M&E consultant to provide final designs of the gates and operating machinery.
KGAL’s work scope includes checking the Client’s outline design, modifying the design where necessary, FEA and CFD of the gate structures, hydraulic simulation of the operating system, provision of design warranty, works inspection and site supervision. |
