Media City Swing Bridge
As part of Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Limited's team, KGAL are responsible for provision of the complete detailed design of the swing bridge operating and control systems.
This mechanically driven, 800 tonne, cable -stayed swing bridge (83m long) was installed across the Manchester Ship Canal at Salford Quays, Manchester. Final commissioning took place early 2011.
The asymmetric single span cable stayed swing footbridge will provide a clear navigable passage of 30m span, across the Manchester Ship Canal at Salford Quays, when open to waterway traffic. |
