Stonebyres and Bonnington Surge Tank Gates Retained by Enterprise Engineering Services Ltd, on behalf of Scottish Power, to undertake a condition survey of two sets of two surge tank gates at two hydroelectric stations in Lanarkshire, Scotland. This lead to the design of four new vertical lift gates and corresponding installation and operation manuals. Milford Haven Dry Dock Caisson Gate Retained by Milford Haven Ship Repairers Ltd. to undertake a condition survey of a caisson gate previously scrapped by the M.O.D, leading to full manufacturing drawings to modify the gate to fit the existing dry dock at Milford Haven, Wales.
Leigh Barrier Radial Gates Retained by the Environment Agency through Babtie Brown and Root to undertake a condition survey of the Leigh Barrier radial gate sluices and associated control systems. The barrier is an impoundment structure which is used to protect Tonbridge from flooding. The study includes for recommendations as to the up-rating of the equipment.
Further work has lead to the design of a complete set of stoplogs and associated equipment to aid the refurbishment of the existing gates.
Grangemouth Mitre Gates Retained by Forth Ports Ltd. to undertake a condition survey of two pairs of mitre gates within Grangemouth Dock, Scotland, leading to the development of an M & E specification for refurbishment works.
Essex Pumping Stations Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake a condition survey of seven pumping stations around Essex.

Each station and all of the equipment at each station was surveyed and a complete refurbishment program report was produced. Burry Port Harbour Retained by Taylor and Sons Ltd to design a Tilting Impounding gate at Burry Port South Wales. The gate is latched in the raised position and subject to high impact and reverse loading.
Jersey Airport Retained by Jersey airport to lead and document a HAZOP meeting regarding the Fire Training Ground at the airport.
River Irwell Retained by Taylor and Sons Ltd to design a vertical lift gate on the river Irwell in Manchester as part of a flood defence scheme.
Tilbury Barrier Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake a condition survey of the Tilbury barrier on the Thames. This provided quantitive information for inclusion within a condition report detailing corrosion protection requirements for a further twenty years life.
Royal Phuket Marina Retained by the Royal Phuket Marina Company to design a pair of sector gates for a new development in Phuket, Thailand. As well as the gates, the contract includes the design of gate controls, walkways and stoplogs.
A14 Sluice and Burford Sluice Retained by the Environment Agency to undertake a condition survey of the A14 sluice and the Burford sluice on the River Gipping. A condition survey report was produced stating any health and safety concerns and corrosion protection requirements for a further twenty years life.
Peel Harbour Retained by the department of transport for the Isle of Mann to design a Tilting Impounding gate and a swing bridge at Peel harbour on the Isle of Mann.

Each site consisted of a set of sluice gates (ranging from one to six) and lifting equipment which no longer met the latest health and safety requirements. Each site was surveyed, a new design was produced and the equipment has already been installed on a number of the sites.
