Kenneth Grubb Associates Ltd were retained by Enterprise Engineering Services Ltd on behalf of Scottish & Southern Energy plc to carry out a structural assessment of the Radial Gates at Glen Moriston Dam.
KGAL carried out a full Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on the existing gate structure based on hydrostatic loading.
The results of the analysis indicated that the gate was suitable for the duty.
Enterprise Engineering Services Ltd subsequently refurbished the existing gate which was then transported to site, installed and fully commissioned in accordance with the clients requirements.
