Kenneth Grubb Associates Ltd were retained by Enterprise Engineering Services Ltd to produce a definitive set of manufacturing drawings for the design of a replacement trash screen to be installed at the Invergarry Dam in Scotland.
The brief consisted of using design layouts generated by Brackett Green (the trash raking system designer) to engineer a working solution on behalf of the ultimate client, Scottish and Southern Energy.
Extensive 3D CAD modeling was used to minimize the risks associated with complex site installation by accurately predicting the geometry of the assembly.
KGAL also undertook independent checking of the Brackett Green screen calculations to substantiate the integrity of the design.
The scheme was successfully commissioned on behalf of the ultimate client by Enterprise Engineering Services Ltd during Spring 2003.
