Walcot Sluice

A new flood protection mitre gate has been installed and commissioned at Walcot Sluice, near Lincoln.

KGAL was appointed to design and detail the replacement gates. The original gates were traditional timber mitre gates, bearing and sealing on the masonry structure, KGAL designed the new gates as a composite structure of steel painted with a suitable corrosion protection system and timber sealing members in Ekki hardwood.

This project is one in a series of successfully completed turnkey gate replacement projects where KGAL has provided technical support.
