Grangemouth Lock Gates Condition Assessment
KGAL were appointed by the Port Authority to carry out a full condition assessment of the main Lock Gates at the entrance to the Port.
The work scope included full inspection of the gates internally and externally. KGAL were responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of the assessment, using subcontract diving services for the external surfaces, and compiling the complete report for the client.
The internal inspections were particularly challenging, as the gates had been flooded for a period of time prior to our appointment. Many of the internal decks were heavily silt laden after years of leakage into the buoyancy chambers.
All KGAL Engineers were trained and competent to work in the confined spaces within the gate structures. |
