Folkestone Seacat Pedestrian Access
Folkestone harbour is home to a cross channel Seacat service. To enable persons to access the boat, there is a moving transfer carriage connected to an enclosed linkspan.
Kenneth Grubb Associates Ltd has undertaken a number of assignments in relation to the moving walkway.
KGAL's Engineers have provided a structural survey for the facility.
We have assisted in the correction of problems associated with a hydraulic braking system for the carriage including the proof loading of the brake with a water based loading system.
In addition we have engineered an over-speed monitoring device to automatically engage the brake in an emergency.
