Fishbelly Gates, Lagan Weir

Scott Wilson, incorporating Ferguson McIlveen, retained by Laganside Corporation, appointed KGAL as specialist sub-consultant to oversee the refurbishment of the 5 weir gates and associated M&E equipment at Lagan Weir.

When the weir was constructed in 1992 it was the first piece in "jigsaw" that was to flourish into a vibrant new Belfast waterfront area.

Ferguson McIlveen were the original civil designers, and a number of KGAL engineers were employed by the original fishbelly gate design and build contractor, together the team hold a unique knowledge of the existing equipment. KGAL's scope of work includes gate inspection and refurbishment, hydraulic cylinder replacement or refurbishment, hydraulic power unit replacement or refurbishment and electrical control system and services refurbishment.
