Bascule Bridge Design, Tianjiin Bridge

With a population of 9.7 million, Tianjin is a fast growing city of increasing economic importance in China. As part of an integrated transport system, a new lifting bridge is being constructed across the navigable waterway through the city.

The new bridge comprises 2 bascule type leaves, each counterweighted within the rear of the deck structures and raised by hydraulic motors on curved racks in the counterweight pit. The clear span of the opening section will be 68m.

KGAL has been approached by Waterman International, to provide technical support with regard to all aspects of the operating machinery.
