Entrance Lock Gates, Port of Barrow
KGAL were appointed to assist the Client with refurbishment or replacement of the entrance lock gates at Port of Barrow. After a condition assessment of the existing gates, it was decided that new gates were required.
After discussing procurement options, KGAL were appointed to design the new gates and provide fully detailed manufacturing drawings for the gates to be manufactured on site in the Client’s own ship building facility.
The gates are part of the main entrance lock which provides access to the Port of Barrow and BAE’s Shipbuilding facility.
BAE build and refurbish the Royal Navy’s fleet of Nuclear Submarines, among other shipbuilding activities.
