 As an exclusive partner to Halcrow, KGAL were appointed by the Environment Agency to provide specialist engineering input to extend the life and improve the performance of the Hull Tidal Surge Barrier.
The original structure built in the late 1970's comprises of a 30 metre span x 1.7 metre deep x 220 Tonnes "up and over" gate suspended on electronically synchronised chain hoists.
KGAL's scope of work included; preparation of design and build procurement specification and project management of the works implementation, including site supervision during the critical "out of service" period.
